Artist Alexandra Bowman

A few weeks ago, I worked on a SUITCASE Magazine profile about Chicago-based artist Alex Bowman and haven't been able to get her work off of my mind.

Mixing the worlds of hip hop, afrofuturism, and Baroque culture, her pieces are mostly made of cardboard and she works on her bed next to her cat. My kinda' lady.

It all just makes me want to turn on some Outkast and, you know, do the damn thing, etc.

Cool, right? See the full interview with Alex Bowman here

Budapest Travel Diary

Remember when I went to Budapest?

I do, because it was me who went, and because it was earlier this month, and because it was amazing.

Luckily, Mr & Mrs Smith also remember and earlier this week posted my SUITCASE Magazine x Budapest travel diary on the Smith Travel Blog.

Give it a read, and see more of my Budapest adventures here and here.

A Quick Trip To Budapest

Apologies for the radio silence.

Aside from having a busy couple of weeks–ye olde' U.S. taxes and Visa applications sure do know how to ruin a Saturday–I'm actually in Budapest at the moment with SUITCASE and Mr. & Mrs. Smith! Not a bad way to spend a Monday, I'll tell you that.

I'll be back with plenty of stories and photos but until then, let's admire Budapest:

Good Reads: The Best Links This Week

Happy Friday and, of course, Valentine's Day!

Tonight we're off to the Churchill War Rooms for some champagne and potentially-awkward swing dancing, then tomorrow it's dinner at Foxlow where I plan on drinking a Tom Ford and eating some Goat's Butter Crisps.

In the meantime, here's the best links of the week in case you missed it:

Thanks to illustrator Aaron Favaloro and SUITCASE Magazine, I'm a cartoon!

Shirley Temple, what a star.

This girl built a treehouse in her Brooklyn loft. Insane home inspiration. (Co. Exist)

Actually dying over this.

What it's like to create content for the web. Yeeepppp. (The Oatmeal)

I can't put down this book.

An American In: Monte Carlo

'Scuse the lack of blogging. I started doing some work with SUITCASE Magazine a few weeks ago and that, combined with my other writing projects, has been keeping me busy as haaell. But in the best of ways!

I was lucky enough to travel with SUITCASE earlier this week over to Monte Carlo for an extended weekend tasting some of the finest foods and reviewing some of the fanciest hotels that this tiny quarter in the Principality of Moncao has to offer. Photographer friend Bridget came along and we spent the entire few days thinking, who are we?

My photo diary is up SUITCASE, and a full review is coming next week. In case you missed anything on Instagram or Twitter, here are a few outtakes:
