Tippi Hedren and The Case for Blond Hair and White Clothes

As you may know, we just got back from a two-week trip to South Africa. While the destination is absolutely worth the almost 24 hour traveling time, let me tell you: it is one heck of a flight.

Our route of choice is via Dubai, whose airport is awesome in its own right and has some of the coolest souvenirs around. But to get to Dubai from London, you need a 9-hour flight. To then get from Dubai to the east coast of South Africa, you need a 6-hour flight. All of this is particularly confusing because Dubai is four hours behind London, time zone-wise, and the eastern coast of SA is only two hours behind. So basically, you fly back and then forward in time.

On the second leg of our return flight home - somewhere between Dubai and London, I decided to watch BBC's The Girl, which tells the story of Alfred Hitchcock and Tippi Hedren. Both the movie and Sienna Miller are ok but not great, but I do have to give credit where credit is due: aside from the fact that Sienna is gorgeous in that 1950s-60s way that I love (see: Factory Girl), she looks especially stunning in this movie due to the soft-toned California setting paired with her white blond hair and cream-colored clothing. Be still my heart.

Sienna Miller as Tippi Hedren - isn't this kinda' funny?

Because of this, I'm now on a cream and white kick. Cases in point:
